My Turn

tea and cough drops
After a long battle trying to keep it away, Simon’s cold decided that it is my turn to be sick. I am congested, with a cough and a runny nose. My head feels heavy and my ears are plugged. I spent most of today presenting Simon with things to do, while I sat by and watched him play. When naptime finally arrived, I flopped, gratefully, into my own bed for a while. Shortly after, Jeramy arrived home and took over the main parenting duties for the rest of the evening.

Tomorrow begins a long weekend because of the holiday. I am hoping I do not end up spending the whole thing sick and moping about. Long weekends are rare, and this one is special because we don’t have a lot of plans on the calendar, so we can do whatever we want together as a family. As good as it is that I don’t have much to do with this darn cold, I hate to not make the most of the time.

I am trying to focus on being thankful that if I am going to be sick, at least Jeramy is home.
