Motherhood, Art, Creative Play, and Finding Joy in Everyday Life

Simon: Recovering.

He climbed onto the coffee table at his Nana’s house today, and took a dive off. His chin hit the edge of the table on the way down, and he took a chunk out of it. Poor little guy, was very hurt and shaken. I was at church, and got a text from Jeramy, letting me know what happened. I headed over right away.

I took this picture later in the day, after he had come back home and taken a long nap and a relaxing bath. He requested some snuggle time on the couch, and I put on the “Peter movie” we recently brought home from the library while fixing his dinner. A stuffed animal, a soft blanket, and some down time were just what he needed. The trauma of the fall, the fear, the “stinging medicine” (as he called it), and the removal and re-application of band-aids  made him quite emotional for most of the day.

It is always hard, when our little ones get hurt.

  1. I hope he’s better soonest! It’s never fun, nor easy, when they’re sick or hurt.

  2. Awww….poor guy! We’ve been there, but it was the eyebrow, not the chin! Good thing is scars are cool on boys! 🙂
