The First Candy Cane

Simon had his very first candy cane ever today. It was a sticky mess, but this is the holiday season, so the rules can get a little bendy. (And the teeth get extra brushing.)

I have been in crafting mode. Secret Christmas projects that I won’t be able to share here publicly until after the gifts are given. I am, however, working on making Simon, Jeramy, and I some new Christmas stockings, so as soon as those are finished I will be posting about them. Decorating will also begin soon, and wrapping, and the annual Christmas card. All of that will be shared here in the blog.

In the meantime though, I just wanted to share how excited I am for this season’s arrival. I love the gifting and the secrecy and the lights and festivity. I am a sucker for all of that, while also a person who strives to keep it all simple and meaningful. Little joys, like a child’s first candy cane, or his joy at the twinkling trees in the shops, those are the best things about this time of year.

  1. I love the secrecy in gift giving, as well. I’m terrible at it and always want to tell people what I’m giving them! 🙂

  2. Yay! Love the eyes, and the sugar dripping down his hand! Tea has only had broken pieces of candy cane, we’ll need to give her a whole one soon!! Ash hasn’t had any yet! But this will be her year!!

Can’t wait to hear about the crafting presents!
