A Fleeting Season

It is hard for me to believe that we are already into October! Time is whizzing by. We still have not made time for apple picking, or pumpkins, or gathering of leaves and pine cones. There is so much left on our Fall “bucket list”, and so little time before the Maine winter decides to settle in. It always happens more quickly than expected. I wish I could extend the length and beauty of Fall further, but alas, here in Maine it is usually a fleeting season…one minute there is gorgeous foliage all around and a bit of lingering warmth, then suddenly, all is grey and cold. Winter arrives to the party early and stays late here.

I am hoping to slow our pace a little bit now, and find more time for living in the moments. Soon enough snow will come, so we’ll be trying to seize the days of the season while we still can.

  1. I have a real feeling of trying to seize every moment of warm sun and crisp clear sky we have left too. We walked out last night and our breath was smoking already. Too soon, too soon 🙂

  2. Just today our weather has gone from upper 70’s down to what feels like mid-60’s. I’m scared. Fall is fun and all, but it’s also ominous of yucky wintertime. I feel like hibernating.

  3. It’s supposed to be high 40s, low 50s in Pennsylvania this weekend. What the heck?! Not cool fall…
