Simple Cardboard Tube Airplane

The other day I whipped up this little airplane for Simon out of a cardboard tube, some cardboard wings cut from a food box, and little people to sit inside.

If you want to make one too it is easy. Older kids can get in on the making, those too little for scissors might just watch you make it, and then select the pilots.

Simply cut out your wing shapes from whatever cardboard you are using, cut slits in the tube, slide the wings in, and there’s your plane. Then, just cut some holes out of the top the right size to nestle little toy people or animals into. To take this activity a step further, I will be setting Simon up to give the plane a paint job soon.

This is such a simple craft for re-purposing recyclables to make a toy that your child can have a blast with.
