Motherhood, Art, Creative Play, and Finding Joy in Everyday Life

Rainy Sunday

It was so cold in the house. Winter slippers (complete with a snowflake print), a cozy cardigan, and a scarf were worn all day. In June.

Simon and I are going through a cold right along with one another. We are now at the chest congestion and coughing stage. It is hitting him a bit harder than I, poor baby.

Rain, rain, rain all day. And a leak coming in through the living-room window. A blue bucket currently sits underneath to catch the drips until we can properly fix it.

A little laundry. A little vacuuming. A little tidying up.

Simon ate “Elmo noodle soup” for dinner. I only buy that for him when he is sick. We usually all have dinner together, but he really needed to get off to bed. We also let him have a cookie for dessert. I believe in allowing special treats when he doesn’t feel well.

The weather was leaving Jeramy and I with a lack of energy, but also a craving for a hot, comforting meal. After Simon was in bed, Jeramy went out in the gloomy weather to get our dinner. He selected rotisserie turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, and peas. Already cooked by the store. Perfect.

Cookies for us while snuggled under a blanket on the couch and watching Farscape. The purring kitties climbed up to join us.

I also put a new post up over at This Mumma’s Style. Please do check it out.

Happy Sunday!

  1. So sorry to hear you guys aren’t feeling all too well 😦 It sounds like you’re at least making the most of it by snuggling and getting special treats! Hope your Monday is doing better.
