I wrote about some creative fun with cardboard Simon and I had in the past, and as he gets older I see this continuing to be a regular feature in our days, and therefore also here in the blog.
The other day we were playing with toys in Simon’s room, and I got the urge to make something. I grabbed an empty cereal box, the scissors and some packing tape and started fashioning a miniature house for Simon’s little people. (He calls the bin of little people and animals all his “guys”.) I had originally planned to make a multi-room house with lots of added details, but I ran out of tape pretty quickly and couldn’t find any more. So it ended up being this simple stable-type house instead, which Simon promptly loaded up with “guys”.
I’m not sure why the poor fireman ended up fenced in all by himself.
Since we had no tape left, we decided to make the rest of the box be a ramp for little cars. Simon thought this was hysterical, and giggled every time a car zoomed down.
Very simple, but creative and fun. I have since found the rest of the tape, so some more fun with cardboard is sure to happen around here very soon.
