Easy Valentines Heart Banner With Kid Art

I did a simple Valentine’s Day themed craft project today, incorporating Simon’s artwork.

I simply took some of his finger paintings, traced a heart-shaped cookie cutter onto them, and cut out all the hearts.

Then I loaded my sewing machine with red thread, and ran all of the hearts through the machine to string them together.

I strung them up in the kitchen and Voila! Instant heart banner. This would be a great project to do with older kids too. You could get them to help cut out the heart shapes to practice their cutting skills, and they could get very detailed in their heart decoration if they wanted to.

I cannot wait to see what my Simon thinks when he sees the hearts strung up in the morning.
