A Little Balance

My husband is a very good man- I am sure I don’t tell him often enough. As he was leaving for work tonight, he asked me what my plans for the rest of my evening were. I indicated the sink full of dishes and mentioned the laundry. He told me he would rather know I got out my sewing machine and did something fun and creative than worry about that stuff. See? A good man.

So I decided on a compromise. I did half of the dishes, and will spend time doing some sewing preparation. Since I don’t know how to use my new machine yet, I found a very simple project to do next, and I am going to do the ironing, measuring, and cutting tonight. Tomorrow I will need to run out for one more supply, and then I can sew it up. I figure this is a good balance between tackling chores and pursuing creative endeavors.

Hopefully, I will have a finished project to share tomorrow!

  1. What a sweet hubby:))))

Okay, I got a sewing machine for my Birthday in June and have yet to try and use it:(( I REALLY want to learn. I am using you as inspiration at the moment:)

    • Awww, I would feel so honored to inspire! My mother taught herself by reading her manual. I have been borrowing her machine, going with what she has shown me and a little I learned in high school. I will be reading my own manual soon!

  2. Sounds like a great compromise! What a nice hubby you have.
Can’t wait to see the finished project!

  3. A good guy indeed 😉
I have an old sewing machine that gets caught in everything and a new one (well new but not great) that can’t even start – I wish I could just sit and get sewing away with hopes of luck in actually sewing something….. hmmmm maybe I need to fix these babies up or invest in something finally. I am dying to do something lately 😉
    Good luck with your projects.

  4. Good for you! That is always my goal to do a little bit of several things – not sure why it is so hard to make that happen! Good man ; )
